Location

Valencia is made up of three provinces within Spain’s Mediterranean coast, Castellon in the north, the province of Valencia in the centre, and Alicante province to the south.

Valencia has mild weather all year round, due in part to its warm, temperate subtropical climate. The temperatures in the winters range from eight degrees Celsius to twenty five degrees Celsius but can like many parts of Spain recently suffer weather extremes.

How to get to and from Valencia airport

Valencia also has its own airport, which happens to be the 10th busiest in Spain. It is located 8 km west of the city of Valencia. Public transport from the airport is excellent 

Flights to Valencia include low cost airline Ryanair from most UK airports and British airways fly from Gatwick. You can get there from Edinburgh and Dublin with EasyJet.

Airport Transfers from Valencia airport 

Being just 5 miles from the city centre, Valencia Manises airport to the centre costs approximately €20. If you are nimble on your feet and don’t have much luggage to carry, there is also a metro to the centre which costs just costs under €5 ( You will need Metro Line number 5) 

Public Bus to and from Valencia airport will be bus number 150. For just €2.50 this connects the airport to the bus station.

Train to Valencia: If you don’t want to fly to Valencia you can get to Paris via the Eurostar train. Then you can take the TGV ( Train à Grande Vitesse) or France’s intercity high-speed rail service from Paris to Barcelona. Then the train from Barcelona to Valencia takes around three hours.

Fortunately there are so many choices that with a little planning and research you can skip the crowds. One of the city’s most popular sights is the old Catedral de Santa Maria de Valencia. This also backs onto the attractive Plaza de la Virgen square where you can watch the world go by among the buzz from the locals. Bioparc Valencia is a firm favourite with younger ones and animal lovers because this is not your average zoo. Conservation and natural habitat seems to be a first priority, and then enclosures second. Just outside of the Parque de Cabecera you will find this mini Africa where exotic creatures roam as free as possible creating a beautiful environment for people of all ages to enjoy. Another spot to enjoy is Malvarossa Beach, which is certainly also worth a day out at.
