The Area - GeographyThe land is an area of great beauty encompassing something for everyone from the rugged mountains, rolling hills and valleys and a coastline of craggy rocks, creeks and caves and endless blue flag beaches and the Mediterranean sea. The countryside is both green and colourful with sweet smelling orange, lemon, olive and almond trees, vineyards and scattering of villages and coastal towns. The main towns of Javea, Moraira, Calpe and Denia are very different but all very cosmopolitan. A little further north is the town of Gandia which is still very Spanish and famous for the Borgia family. Javea
Javea encompasses three distinctly different areas:
There are fourteen Miradors at various vantage points around the town giving breathtaking views for miles around. See www.xabia.org. Moraira
DeniaDenia is the capital of the Marina Alta region and situated on the coast midway between Valencia and Alicante airports. The town is famous for its 16 th century castle that towers above the old town which is a showcase of architecture through the ages.

CalpeOne of the most famous land marks of the Costa Blanca the Penon de Ifach which towers 332 metres high. This massive limestone outcrop is the tallest rock in the entire Mediterranea.
Besides the above mention towns there are many other town and villages in close proximity worthy of note like Benissa, Ondara, Beniarbeig, Benitachell and Gata de Gorgos to name but a few. Jalon and OrbaThe Jalon and Orba valleys are stunning areas of natural beauty that contain a wealth of old and new properties to suit every ones taste. The village of Jalon is often a hive of activity with its shops, restaurants bodegas and very popular Saturday flee market. OntinyentOntinyent Is the capital of the Vall d'Albaida region nestled in the Albaida valley surrounded by the Agullent-Benicadell mountains to the South and the Serra Grossa to the North. Being substantially inland property prices are lower and it is therefore well worth the search for that property bargain. Gandia/OlivaOliva is about half and hours drive North of Denia and Gandia is a further quarter of and hour further on. Oliva town has the back drop of the Gallinera and Mustalla mountain ranges and the Playa and its blue flag beaches and small port in front. A vibrant town, rich in history and popular with the British expat community. Gandia is a city, capital of the La Safor region and is situated beneath the imposing Mondover mountain. It differs greatly from nearby Oliva in that the residents are predominantly Spanish and it is a frequent holiday destination for Madridians. Rich in historical heritage there is a wealth of interesting places to visit like the Borgia Palace and a new modern shopping centre and shopping malls with all the designer labels. Gandia Playa boasts one of the best and cleanest blue flag beaches in the world. It has kilometres of palm tree lined promenade, harbour and nautical club which will feature in the forthcoming Americas cup.
